Stay and Play Program:
Our Stay and Play program provides an opportunity to extend your child’s day by offering additional playtime along with indoor and outdoor activities.
The emphasis of this class is to enhance social, emotional and self-help skills.
The age group for stay and play is 3 to 5 years old.
Schedule:
The Stay & Play Program incorporates a more relaxed and open-ended schedule for social and extended play time:
Outdoor play rotating between our 3 playgrounds: Nature Outdoor Classroom, Trikes Playground and the Climbing Playground.
Interactive indoor classroom activities with a variety of centers for exploration and creativity.
Art time filled with unique, creative and exciting projects.

Social Skills:
The class provides ample opportunities to work on social skills by encouraging children to:
Learn problem solving in a social setting
Use language appropriately and self-regulate their emotions
Teaching kindness, empathy, and cooperation with peers
Practice expressing their thoughts, needs and emotions while interacting with peers.
Encourage them to use words to engage and play with peers.
Learn to take turns and share.
Creating safety awareness in a classroom setting.
Self-Help/Independence:
Self-help skills lay the foundation for independence, responsibility and confidence in young children.
These skills promote a child’s practical abilities and nurtures emotional growth.
In this class, we work on:
Eating lunch independently by using stencils, opening and closing their lunch boxes, and cleaning after eating (throwing away trash, wiping hands and mouth).
Practicing washing hands independently.
Packing their bags and taking care of their belongings.
Learn to put coats/sweaters on and take them off with minimal help.
Putting away toys or books after playtime.
Helping in setting up or arranging materials for group activities.

Exploring materials- Children get a chance to actively examine and interact with different objects or textures through play, using senses like sight, touch, hearing, and sometimes even taste and smell, to discover their properties and potential uses.
