STEM Enrichment Program:

  • STEM is an acronym for 4 essential areas of learning: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
  • This program focuses on handwriting, advanced math, phonics/reading skills, and STEM activities.
  • We offer a 3-day and a 5-day Enrichment Program.
Unlocking the Power of STEM Learning
Mastering Handwriting with Proven Techniques

Handwriting:

  • We use the award-winning Handwriting Without Tears Workbooks (HWT).
  • The HWT curriculum provides developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory tools and strategies for learning.
  • Focus on developing their handwriting and sentence skills.
  • Promote proper pencil grip through coloring, drawing, and writing using FLIP Crayons and golf-size pencils.

Phonics and Reading:

  • The goal of our phonics program is to help with basic reading skills.
  • The key elements of our phonics section are:
  • Sound recognition.
  • Blending to form words.
  • Segmenting words for spelling and pronunciation.
  • Sight words.
  • Progression to various levels of reading according to their skill set.

Advance Math:

  • Advanced Math skills are honed by using creative activities and fun manipulatives to challenge their thinking.
  • The key elements are:
  • Number recognition 1-30
  • Counting by 5’s and 10’s
  • Even and odd numbers
  • Ordinal numbers
  • Tally marks
  • AB and ABC Patterns
  • Recognize and draw pentagon, hexagon, octagon, trapezoid, heart, start and Rhombus.
  • Recognize 2D and 3D shapes.
  • Money

Stem Activity:

  • Implementing STEM activities that introduce foundational concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through play and experimentation.
  • Hands-on Science Experiments and forming hypothesis, testing, observing and recording data.
  • Implementing activities that incorporate:
  • Math concepts
  • Basic Physics such as gravity and balance
  • Creating structures with blocks, cups, sticks etc.
  • Build sculptures with foam.
  • Designing car ramps.
  • Exploring materials to build a boat that floats.
  • Engineering basketball hoop.
  • Making volcanoes.

Social Skills, Self-Help/ Independence:
